It wasn’t a particularly good weather forecast for a picnic. Showers were forecasted later in the afternoon, it was overcast and cool, but we trudged ahead, our group of old(er) women who picnic annually by the riverbank.
We unloaded supplies, Trish built our fire, Jean grilled the burgers, V and I sat and chatted, and you know what? We discovered that we didn’t have to have sunshine and 70+ weather. It was wonderful, sitting by the fire, the weather brisk and refreshing listening to the leaves rustle in the wind, the river rushing by, our cowboy coffee bubbling on the fire.
We ate, enjoyed nature, ate more… It was a picture perfect day, after all…
