Temporary Housing

pet

petfront

The "granimals" are visiting us for a few weeks while John and Deanna go to Ireland on vacation.  We brought them home last weekend, Petunia the Mini-Lop bunny, Izzie the cocker spaniel, and my two M&M’s were stuffed in the car, Ryan said the interior smelled like a pet store.

They were good little travelers, though, and now Petunia is ensconced in the shade under the honeysuckle vines in the patio.  Hubby improvised her a little house which she seems to like, and unfortunately, because neither rabbit are neutered, she and Butterbean won’t get to know each other.  I don’t think John would appreciate baby bunnies, Deanna, however would love them!

And such is life in Heavensville this glorious May day…

Abby and her first Cadillac…

caddy

I love you for your pink black Cadillac

Crushed velvet seats

Riding in the back, cruising down the street

Waving to the boys, peeling out of sight

Spending all my money on a Saturday night..

Hubby bought Abby this Escalade, we took it to Nashville, and somehow the guys were able to cram it into Lindsay’s SUV for the trip back to Lexington.  He was so thrilled to get it for her, I think he was probably more excited than she was.

Thank goodness we have several years before her Daddy has to deal with her driving real cars, and *gasp* boys.  Right now he’s thinking of keeping her housebound until she’s at least thirty-two….

Nerd smile

Girl’s just wan-na have funnnnn…

Early Sunday morning Deanna and I were sitting on the sofa with Abby.  I leaned over and asked her, “do you want Auntie Dee to paint your piggies?”  “Yeah” she answered.  Deanna painted them a soft pink/coral color, and Abby helped by blowing on her feet to dry them.

Oh, so sweet.  Lots of Abby stories this week…

Lord help, now I’m getting jowls!

old-brigitte-bardotMy neck has already gone and this weekend I was looking in the scary anyway 5X mirror, backlit with intense natural light, and yep, sure enough, there are two little pouches forming on either side of my chin.

Now I posted this picture of Bridgette Bardot because even the most beautiful women in the world grow old and get jowls.  Or, they get their face lifted so much that their belly buttons reside on their foreheads and look positively ridiculous.  So us mere mortals that aren’t that attractive to begin with don’t have a shot in hell!!! There is no way to escape the aging process, if we live long enough we’re going to look our age!

I’m sure some of you will be running to the mirror, looking at yourself and thinking, “whew, it hasn’t happened to me yet.”  But it will, my friends, it will, old age will get us in the end, and in the face as well. hehehe

But note to self after observing this picture:  Tone down the makeup, Jan. No heavily lined eyes, no dark lipstick, TONE.DOWN.THE.MAKEUP.  Never, ever go in the sun again without sunscreen, and when I think of letting my hair grow again, rethink that as well…

Now you all just go out there and enjoy your day.  And don’t keep looking in the mirror, it will make you cry!

It was such a fun Mother’s Day…

We were all at John and Deanna’s in Nashville.  The best part of the day was when I got up Sunday morning.  Abby was already up, playing in another room and when she spotted me, she had this huge grin on her little face.  She came running to me, squealing, “you’re back,”  put her arms around me and gave me a big hug.  It was magic…
